Returning for 2026, our Emergent programme for early career disabled artists will be delivered in partnership with Tate St Ives and The Borlase Smart John Wells Trust (Porthmeor Studios).
What’s on offer?
As with previous Emergent programmes, we are looking to support one awarded artist as well as the cohort of shortlisted artists.
This year, the awarded artist will receive:
- A one-week residency in Cornwall, facilitated by Tate St Ives and Porthmeor Studios from Monday 18th January 2027 until Sunday 24th January 2027.
- An opportunity to host a creative event for young people at Tate St Ives
- Remote mentoring from the Shape Arts team
- A bursary of £3,000
The shortlisted artists will receive:
- Remote mentoring from the Shape Arts team
- Funded mentoring sessions with an artist or practitioner of their choice
