Job Description

Following on from a period of successful R&D and our well-established work with and for schools and early years; Travelling Light are developing a new offer for 0-3s and their families, ready for touring.

WONDER BABY, will be a new high-quality, non-verbal theatre offer for early years, incorporating play and performance.

Using movement and clowning, WONDER BABY explores physical play and its regulatory impact alongside the joyful experience of creating spaces for families and children to play together differently.

What does that first step feel like? How does interacting with someone else make us feel? Why does rolling over feel so good!

Join us as we journey from 0-3 years old, finding our feet, our feelings and our fun. Find a connection whether you have children of your own, or from when you yourself were a child.

Grown from the imaginations and experiences of babies, toddlers and their families – Wonder Baby was developed in collaboration with families who took part in the early development of the show.

Job Requirements

Essential experience: Experience of facilitating in a variety of settings, essential that you have facilitated work with early years. Strong working knowledge of facilitating workshops for children and families. Understanding of how to run and structure a play session. Working directly with children and families (especially in early years or community settings).

Job Responsibilities

During rehearsals you will help develop creative play offers to work in parallel with the performance. You will hold a relationship with the audience throughout the performance, giving a pre-show briefing and being on hand to support audience management, and lead on play session activities. You will assist the Director in rehearsals by running warm-ups, taking notes and assist in documentation and evaluation.
