Eager to make an impact on the lives of young people living in SE London through your creative programming and management skills?

Montage Theatre Arts, a vibrant performing arts charity with a proud 28-year history, is recruiting a Creative Programme Manager to enhance the artistic output, children’s and young people’s experiences, and social purpose of the charity.

We exist to open doors to the performing arts in Lewisham and empower young people to build their self-belief, grow their creative skills, and become thriving members of their community. We foster creativity, confidence, and wellbeing through accessible, inclusive drama, dance and singing programmes.

This exciting and pivotal role will oversee the management of Montage’s creative programme.

The role is varied, combining programme development, strategic planning, people management, event/production management, and creative ambition. This is a hands-on, people-focused position, playing a key part in overseeing our creative community and maintaining high safeguarding and health & safety standards.

Working hours are split between our Lewisham office, activity venues, and home. Regular evening and Saturday working is required during term time.

KEY INFORMATION: Hours: 35 per week (Full Time, PAYE) Location: Working hours split between Lewisham office, activity spaces and home – please see the recruitment pack for more info. Salary: from £37,000 p/a Holiday Entitlement: 30 days (including statutory)

Job Requirements

– Background and professional experience in one, or several, performing arts discipline(s) (e.g. Musical Theatre, Dance, Drama, Singing etc.) – Previous experience within an educational or charitable organisation – Events management experience – Performing arts production experience as a producer, stage manager and/or director – Dedication to the safeguarding and championing of children and young people – Experience working with children and young people, especially within the facilitation of classes, programmes and events – Working knowledge of children and young people’s safeguarding and health and safety – A clear enhanced DBS check – Montage can arrange certification if necessary.

Job Responsibilities

– In consultation with the CEO, create and develop educational development and artistic strategy including courses, locations, events, and performances in line with the organisation’s ethos, charitable goals and best practice – Regularly evaluate and report on Montage’s programme including quality of training, student’s enjoyment, and artistic/educational merit, providing feedback to the CEO and suggesting and implementing new courses and improvements – In association with Montage’s fundraising demands, lead on collection and collation of quantitative and qualitative feedback – Create course content for holiday courses and, when necessary, for term time courses – creating scripts and themes for larger scale productions – Organise performance opportunities and events throughout the year (including logistics and licensing) and act as a producer, director and compare when necessary
