Robin Williams dies aged 63

The Oscar-winning comedian and actor has died at his home in Marin County, California.

Williams, who came to fame via the Seventies television series Mork & Mindy, and who starred in films including Good Morning, Vietnam and Good Will Hunting, is thought to have taken his own life.

His death was confirmed by his publicist, Mara Buxbaum, in a statement: ‘Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.’
