Come and enjoy an evening celebrating performance art, as three Bow Arts artists take the stage in the outdoor space of our new Canada Street Studios, on the corner of Surrey Quays Road and Canada Street. The artists will present a fresh method of performance whilst exploring original works in this new space. The first of our regular line-up of events, Karen Le Roy Harris, Marcus Orlandi and Lloyd Smith will take the lead from 5pm until 8pm.
In addition to performance, there will also be market stalls, food and drinks available on the night.
Entry is free. Please bring a blanket to keep warm. We are collecting blankets for a local homeless charity; if you wish to donate yours afterwards it will be gratefully received.
- Karen Le Roy Harris will be in collaboration with Sheri Burt. The two have been exploring movement through their relationship to Karen’s sculpted objects. The objects themselves are a dance partner, a collaborator from which both the object and body become animated.
- Marcus Orlandi is a performance artist who uses banal and everyday objects and actions in an attempt to break down societal norms and boundaries. He will be performing works that explore themes of masculinity, patriarchy and control in playful and absurdist ways.
- Lloyd Smith is interested in how human behaviour is formed through both our conscious and unconscious object relations. He explores the idea of inner murmurings and dialogues through performance and installation.
