The French Academy in Rome offers a 12-month residency at Villa Medici for established artists, authors and researchers to pursue ambitious projects in creation, experimentation and research across a wide range of disciplines.
Who can apply:
French-speaking artists, authors and researchers of any nationality, aged 18+, who are already professionally active. Applications are accepted across artistic and literary creation, crafts, art history and theory, and art or monument restoration.
What you get:
A 12-month residency at Villa Medici in Rome from September 2027 to August 2028. Group projects are eligible, with each selected participant receiving an individual residency grant.
