Bold Mellon Collective is thrilled to announce an open call for the Queer Migrations Art Book 2026, created in partnership with Royal Museums Greenwich and funded by Arts Council England.
We are seeking 20 contributors whose work will be featured in the publication, which will be available both online and in print.
ABOUT QUEER MIGRATIONS 2026
Queer Migrations is a celebration of the movement, lives, and imaginations of LGBTQIA+ migrants, refugees, diasporic communities, and people living between places, languages, cultures, and histories.
This project aims to explore journeys across borders and generations; recipes for survival, care, and resistance; memories carried in bodies, photographs, songs, and family archives. What is inherited and what is reinvented? How does the past merge with the present? How do we remain in conversation with our ancestors while imagining new futures? We welcome reflections on belonging, entangled realities, home and displacement, chosen family and kinship, grief and joy, departure and arrival. We are interested in the everyday as much as the extraordinary. Whether your work is personal, political, historical, intimate, or experimental, we invite you to share your creative interpretation of queer migrations.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We invite submissions from LGBTQIA+ and UK based creatives with lived experience of migration, displacement, diaspora, refuge, or transnational belonging, whose work and artistic practice explores, reflects on, or connects with queer migrations in all its forms, across a wide range of creative practices, including (but not limited to):
