Elephant Stores is Elephant Park’s homegrown dedicated multi-use space supporting and connecting local independent retailers. We’ll be here for two years (until late 2023), providing smaller entrepreneurs an opportunity to establish and grow their businesses.. Our shop will play host to 60 of the best makers in London, selling everything from fashion to homeware to accessories and beyond.
The shop will be based in Elephant Stores which will be shared with a cafe bar and a bicycle repair shop which also offers bike rental. The shop will be open 7 days a week. The store will be based in the heart of Elephant Park which is filled with bars, restaurants and events and is less than a minute’s walk from Elephant and Castle train station. The unit is based directly opposite the award-winning park and playground which have become a major feature of the area. The shop is launching in October 2021.
The clientele of the shop will be affluent professionals or families with an expected age range of 25-50 years.
To hire a space in the shop, it will from £280 for three months (with 10% commission) or from £100/ month (with 10% commission) taken on each sale made which covers card fees and packaging. Traders who will only be selling greeting cards will be charged from £120 for three months or from £50/month with prices increasing slightly during the busier season. We will have staff on site to sell your products and will provide packaging. Discounted rates will be available for quieter months (please see application form for exact prices). Being in the shop works out to be as little as £3.33 a day, and in addition to being in store you will also be featured on our website and Instagram pages. We recommend applying as early as possible to get the best deal on trader prices, as there may be an price increase later in the year.
Please note, you will need to drop off and pick up your products from the shop in person. This will be required around the 28th – 2nd of each month.
To have your products in store you will need Public Liability Insurance and any relevant certificates if you are selling cosmetics or packaged food. It is up to you to make sure your insurance will cover retail.
To give everyone maximum exposure in the shop we will rotate everyone’s products on a weekly basis to make sure everyone has a prime location in the store. When your products are in the shop you will receive a fortnightly sales report so you are able to bring in extra stock during your residency at the store.
A standard pitch in the shop will be approx 2ft x 2ft. Here is a rough guide on how many products you can fit in this. Please email us directly if you require a different space. Please note, we will be curating the stock in the shop ourselves so your stock may not be altogether in one place.
