Artistic director of the Bolshoi Theatre and renowned ballet star Sergei Filin is suffering from severe burns to his face after a masked man threw acid in his face. Doctors are working hard to preserve the star’s eyesight, but it is likely that he will have to be moved to a clinic abroad for further treatment.
The attack occurred while Filin was walking home from a party in central Moscow, when a man called out his name and chased him down before throwing acid at his face.
