An ongoing dispute over a selection of Jewish manuscripts known as the Schneerson Collection continues to rage after Russian President Vladimir Putin said he would not allow the collection to be handed over to the US.

The Brooklyn-based Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic group has asked for the manuscripts repeatedly, following a 2010 court ruling which found that the collection belonged to the group. Last month, the US Supreme Court further stipulated that Russia should pay US $50,000 dollars a day until the collection is returned.
