You’ve got to be in it, to win it, so the saying goes. So kick start 2008 by entering a competition – no matter what your artform. Here are just a few that have crossed our news desk in the last week…

Writing & Publishing

Londoners are invited to produce a short piece of imaginative writing about the lives, people and stories in their area of London for Write up Your Street. Entries must be under 300 words and can be a poem, a short story, or any other form of creative writing. They can be factual or fictional, but must include a real London street name in their title. There are two categories of entry, for those under and those above the age of sixteen. 1st prize is a £400 Foyles book token, 2nd prize a £200 token, and 3rd prize a £100 token. There is also a special schools’ prize and a years free subscription to Time Out for all winners of the over 16 category.
