Iran protests ‘Closed Curtain’ win at Berlinale

Iran has protested against the Berlin Film Festival’s decision to award Best Script to banned Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi’s ‘Closed Curtain.’

A few weeks ago, ArtsHub reported that Jafar Panahi’s Closed Curtain was one of the most anticipated films to screen at the Berlin Film Festival.

The film certainly appeared to live up to its hype, picking up the festival’s Silver Bear award for Best Script. But one group of people who aren’t happy about Panahi’s win are the Iranian authorities, who have spoken out against the director’s victory.
