With more than 400 free and ticketed events presented by over 50 organisations and venues, EAST 2008 put the spotlight on the extraordinary creative forces of East London over six days from Thursday 6 to Tuesday 11 March 2008.
Visual arts, performance, history, film, food and fashion were the main ingredients of EAST 2008, a festival which straddled the boundaries of geography, culture and art form. In an area championed as the creative engine of the capital, EAST exmplified the vitality and creativity of the an area that is transforming itself with the advent of the 2012 games.
