Art in the toilet: Jay Rechsteiner

The Washroom Talks are an innovative idea - artist Jay Rechsteiner goes into the bathroom, public or private, to talk art. So what's it all about, and what is Jay's Concept of Art, that forms the basis for the discussion that is the project?

Jay Rechsteiner is an artist working on several projects, including the Washroom Talks, for which he is currently seeking participants. The Washroom Talks are a series of video recorded discussions about art in private and public toilets. Every discussion will be thoroughly analysed and documented triggering off what Jay calls “a statement and a conclusion for the next discussion”. The whole process is part of his project, [zeiTraum]’s, interactive development of The Concept of Art concluding in The Manuscript of Art and an artistic presentation in form of an image and sound space installation.
