400 bricks have reportedly been stolen from Babylon’s Ishtar gate, much higher than the estimated 33 pieces reported last October by the local Iraqi press.

The Minister for Tourism and Antiquities, Liwa Sumaism has this month reported the total to be 400.

The Art Newspaper said that the blue glazed bricks have images of bulls lions and dragons emblazoned in gold on them.
