Transfield severs ties with Biennale

The Chair of the Biennale of Sydney has resigned following boycotts over Transfield's management of detention centres.

The Belgiorno-Nettis family owns Transfield Holdings, which is a major shareholder in Transfield Services, the company that manages offshore asylum seeker detention facilities. Transfield Holdings is the founding and major sponsor of the Sydney Biennale, with which it has a long and close relationship.
