Ledare recently sparked a storm for photographic works from his book Pretend You’re Actually Alive, which caught the media’s attention after selected pieces were exhibited at the Photographers’ Gallery in London as part of Frieze Masters this month.

The photos that had tongues wagging were of a middle-aged lady posed in various sexual acts with several different men, taken over a period of eight years. Explicit enough on their own, Ledare shattered taboos further when patrons stepped closer and realised that the woman in the photographs was his mother.
