The Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Arts Council have outlined their commitment to prioritising development opportunities for professional artists following a report which found that the average artist earns just £7,500 per year in Northern Ireland and £14,500 in the Republic of Ireland.

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon have outlined their commitment to prioritising development opportunities for professional artists following a report which found that the average artist earns just £7,500 per year in Northern Ireland and £14,500 in the Republic of Ireland.

The ‘iving and Working Conditions of Artists In Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland’ report (2010), prepared by Hibernian Consulting, examined the socio-economic context in which artists operate, as well as drawing together the findings of other similar international studies.
