Dutch arts groups shut down as funding vanishes

Two dozen cultural institutions across the Netherlands have been forced to shut down after being hit hard with funding cuts.

Dance companies, orchestras, nonprofit art galleries and theatrical companies are among the many Dutch art groups closing their doors due to lack of funding. Despite once having a rich cultural heritage, the 2008 financial crisis hit Holland hard and a mounting vendetta against cultural and artistic spending was launched.
