The winners of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for 2013 were announced yesterday, with the awards to be officially given in a ceremony in May.


The Pulitzer Prize is awarded for excellence in journalism and the arts, and was established in 1917 by Joseph Pulitzer. Winners are chosen by the Pulitzer Prize Board, which includes academics, curators, editors and other arts executives.
