Body Fluid II (redux), is designed to offer visitors an opportunity to reflect on their mortality and to experience the exhibition space as a place for healing and quiet contemplation.

For Douglas, art is not merely a profession, but also an extension of himself. ‘I am in the work and I use my body as a sculptural form, but usually my identity is altered in someway and in the case of Body Fluid, by using the gold costume my identity is completely removed, illustrating the symbiotic relationship between body and life support machine.’
