Among the many people paying tribute to Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez, who died of cancer this week, are a host of Hollywood celebrities including actor Sean Penn, who described the late president as a ‘friend [he] was blessed to have.’
‘Today the people of the United States lost a friend it never knew it had. And poor people around the world lost a champion,’ Penn told The Hollywood Reporter. ‘Venezuela and its revolution will endure under the proven leadership of Vice President Maduro.’
