An old photo of artist Damien Hirst holding a recently dead man’s head has offended two archaeologists from Leicester.

The controversial photograph-turned-artwork, entitled With Dead Head, was taken in 1981 when Hirst was only sixteen years old. In the photo Hirst is grinning as he holds up the head of a recently-deceased man at the Leeds Anatomy School where the artist was learning to sketch.
