Job Description

LAStheatre is an award-winning, artist-led theatre company rooted in East Kent & touring across the UK & Ireland.

We are entering an exciting new phase of organisational growth, with a growing touring portfolio & ambitious plans for future productions & community projects. We are now looking for a Production & Technical Manager to join us & play a central role in delivering that work.

This is a new role at LAStheatre & a genuine opportunity to help shape how the company works as it grows.

We are looking for someone practical, organised, calm under pressure & collaborative – someone who enjoys helping ambitious creative projects run well & supporting artists & collaborators to do their best work.

Key Responsibilities: *Tour Delivery & Company Management* -Act as company manager during touring periods -Take lead responsibility for smooth running of productions on tour -Drive company van & transport touring equipment -Coordinate travel, accommodation & practical touring logistics -Support performers & creative teams while on tour -Maintain a calm, organised & supportive touring environment -Ensure productions are delivered safely & professionally

*Technical & Production Management* -Lead get-ins & get-outs at all venues -Operate productions on tour -Liaise with venue technical teams & advance tour requirements -Maintain technical documentation & touring packs -Oversee touring equipment & production logistics -Support rehearsal & production periods

*Planning & Administration* -Maintain production schedules & timelines -Prepare & distribute production information to all relevant parties -Support project administration & scheduling -Help maintain organisational systems, documentation & archives -Support development of operational systems & workflows

*Organisational Support* -Help build sustainable operational structures across the company -Support freelancers & collaborators across projects -Contribute to the long-term operational development of LAStheatre

Job Requirements

Essential -Strong technical theatre skills, particularly in lighting and/or sound -Experience in touring, stage management and/or production management -Experience of small or mid-scale touring contexts -Full, clean UK driving licence – confident driver -Highly organised, with a strong ability to prioritise tasks & meet deadlines -High level of accuracy & attention to detail -Excellent communication skills – clear, warm & direct -Skilled at planning ahead & problem-solving under pressure -Confident working independently on the road -Able to work with tact & care when supporting people -Flexible & adaptable within a small, collaborative team -A genuine interest in theatre for young audiences, participation & community-focused work – Positive, can-do attitude

Job Responsibilities

Salary: £30,000 per annum Contract type: Full-time, 9-month fixed term with potential for extension Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week – intensive during touring and production periods, with TOIL to balance Location: Based in Thanet, Kent with some remote working flexibility
