We are looking for a visionary and experienced individual to lead the organization after the departure of the founder and current director. The candidate should have a strong record of leading initiatives and projects in arts and culture, development, education, and/or human rights. They must be passionate about social justice and the role of arts and culture in achieving it. The director reports to the organization’s board and coordinates closely with its general assembly of 18 members.
Job Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- At least 10 years’ experience in top management positions in civil society or international organizations.
- University degree in relevant fields.
- Excellent knowledge of the social and political contexts in the Arabic speaking region, and Global South countries.
- Proven ability in fundraising and resource development.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic. Ability to author articles and reports in both languages.
- Ability to travel within the Arabic speaking region and internationally.
- Ability to operate under difficult socio-political circumstances and provide creative responses in crisis situations.
Job Responsibilities
The main duties of this position are:
1. Leadership: leading a dedicated and talented team of individuals with diverse backgrounds to achieve the organization’s goals. The director plays a vital role in inspiring and enthusing the team and fostering collaboration among them.
2. Fundraising: designing and implementing fundraising strategies and plans, cultivating new funding opportunities, and maintaining relationships with existing donors.
3. Management: Oversight, leadership and management of programs, operations, and financial and administrative processes.
4. Program development and design: Designing new programs and developing existing ones, ensuring programs correspond to the organization’s mission and the changing needs and opportunities. Maintaining qualitative and quantitative criteria in the implementation of all programs.
5. Governance: maintaining high standards of accountability in all operations, ensuring adherence to the organization’s statutes
