Working closely with our newly strengthened governance team, and the Artistic Director and CEO Mike Tweddle (appointed 2023) and Executive Director Marianne Jacques, this is an exciting time to be joining The Playhouse, helping to shape the development strategy for the organisation, lead our fundraising plans around a capital project to make our building fully accessible and welcoming to all.
Job Requirements
Requirements include:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related area within the arts or nonprofit sector.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising.
- Experience of successfully leading a team within fundraising.

Job Responsibilities
The Development Director is a new and significant role for Oxford Playhouse as the theatre launches a new Strategy 2025-2030, with six new strategic goals and a planned capital campaign to re-envisage our building to be welcoming and accessible to all.
It is an exciting moment to join Oxford Playhouse and be responsible for devising and delivering a new fundraising strategy that will shape and secure the long-term future of Oxford Playhouse.
A key role within our Senior Management Team, this position requires a dynamic and inspiring leader with a passion for the arts, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in fundraising and donor relations.
