For whom
Artist Project grants are for visual artists who want to execute a specific plan, tied to a clearly defined working period. This can also be a collaborative project with one or more other parties.
The Mondriaan Fund offers Artist Project grants to stimulate talent development by providing visual artists the opportunity to execute an artistic plan that can impact the quality and visibility of contemporary visual arts in the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
For what
You can use this grant to help meet the costs of realizing this project, for example, for the execution of a concrete plan for new work, a collaborative engagement, or for travel and work abroad. This might entail a research project, an apprenticeship, or a working period in the Netherlands or elsewhere.
How much
The amount of the stipend depends on your plan:
- A fixed amount for a working period in the Netherlands or elsewhere, varying from 1 month to a maximum of 6 months. The standard amount is € 2.585 per month. Your working plan must include a good argument for the period of time to be covered by the grant.
- A flexible amount is possible for a period of up to 12 months.
The amount is determined according to the plan, the duration of the project, and the budget.
