Motunrayo Akinola presents a new participatory live performance alongside new sculptures. The event follows Akinola’s six month residency at the SLG. The performance will expand on themes explored in his exhibition Knees Kiss Ground, on display in the SLG’s Fire Station.
Akinola’s exhibition explores public attitudes towards migration. His work places objects alongside each other, using our shared and personal understandings of how they relate to prompt discussion on contemporary issues. During the performance he will present a new structure that the audience will be invited to enter and have their feet washed by the artist.
