The Winner’s Solo Exhibition will premiere at the Nunnery Gallery in February 2024. Kat Anderson was the winner of the inaugural East London Art Prize in 2023.
The East London Art Prize was established by Bow Arts in 2022, and celebrates and promotes the incredible talent and diversity of art made in the cultural hive of east London. The winner of the East London Art Prize recieves a £15,000 cash prize and a solo exhibition at the Nunnery Gallery in 2024, developed in conjunction with Bow Arts and run as part of the Gallery programme.
Selected by Larry Achiampong, Louisa Buck, Ellie Pennick and Megan Piper, the Winner of the inaugural East London Art Prize was Kat Anderson.
Kat’s prizewinning work ‘John’ is a two-channel film installation which tells the story of a young male patient of a psychiatric hospital who witnesses the death of another Black male patient at the hands of white staff.
