Catherine Edwards is programmes director for Script, the West Midlands agency for dramatic writers. Previously Stagecoach West Midlands, the organisation was formed in 1992 from the regional Theatre Writers’ Union. Its primary focus was to support the five main producing companies in the West Midlands* with the aim of providing script reading and writer development services for these theatres and increasing the production of plays by West Midlands writers. In 2002, the company was re-launched as Script and its focus broadened to offer training and development opportunities to writers in film, TV and radio, as well as a continuing commitment to the stage.
