Artist Commission, Art, Nature and Recovery Project

The CPP Hounslow Visual Arts Programme is partnering with West London NHS Trust’s Recovery College team to coproduce a series of workshops on the theme of Nature and Mental Health Recovery, culminating in an exhibition.

We would like to commission an artist to work with CPP Hounslow and the Recovery College to co-lead a series of sessions with participants from both organisations. The sessions should lead to a high quality exhibition to be shown first at the Recovery College, and then touring other venues across London Borough of Hounslow until the end 2021.

The 4 x 3 hour sessions are planned for 28 April, 4 May 2020, 12 May 2020, 18 May 2020. The artist will need to be available for these dates, and will work alongside a Peer Trainer from the Recovery College to deliver the sessions.

We anticipate the final exhibition will be delivered in June 2020.

There is a fee of £1,000 for the project, with an additional materials budget available to fabricate the work.

We are looking for an artist who can deliver creative activities for a group of participants (some with mental health needs) on the theme of nature and mental health recovery. Activities should be designed to be undertaken outside. The artist will then use the ideas (and potentially imagery) from the sessions as inspiration for a high quality, visual outcome, suitable for public display at venues including libraries and cafes.
