Newly discovered Russian and Ukrainian works

ArtsHub | Tuesday, February 02, 2010

MEDIA RELEASE COURTESY OF: THE CHAMBER GALLERY

The Chamber Gallery is opening a new exhibition, the Shashoua Collection, on the 12th February until 12th March 2010.

The exhibition is a presentation of a remarkable and newly discovered collection of Ukrainian and Russian paintings from the 1960's onwards. It includes artists such as Petro Magro and Grygoriy Shyshko who painted at a time when Social Realism was the official style. They managed to discover their own poetic styles through a personal use of colour. Their work reflects the culture, the nature and the customs of their homeland.

Location: Chamber Gallery, 23 Long Lane, London, EC1A 9HZ
