The judging panel for the competition of a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill has been confirmed.

The judging panel for the competition of a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill, organized by B.H.Portrait Academy in association with Eclusier, has now been confirmed.

The panel will consist of:
The Hon.Celia Sandys (the granddaughter of Winston Churchill)
Celia and John Lee (authors/biographers)
Lady Barbara Hamilton
Magdalena Rutkowska

Following the success of the recently published book, The Churchills: a Family Portrait, Barbara Hamilton’s Portrait Academy is pleased to announce the first portrait drawing/painting contest in memory of Sir Winston Churchill.

The aim of the competition is to encourage an appreciation of portrait drawing as a worthy element in the history of art, at the same time history in general.

The judging panel then select a shortlist of 20 artists, to be announced in early April. The overall winners from two age groups will be announced at a gala event at Tapeley Park Manor in Devon on 24th April 2010.

The winner of the competition will be awarded a prize of £500, together with a certificate and a copy of the book signed by all members of the jury. The image of winning portraits will be attached to a limited number of the published books. The remaining shortlisted artists will also receive a certificate.

All of the selected artists will be invited to take part in the final portrait exhibition at the end of the year 2010.
