Now in its 27th year, the AOP Photographers Awards is regarded as the most important Awards competition within the photographic industry. Being selected for entry into the Awards Book and accompanying exhibition is considered one of the greatest accolades available to professional photographers and raises their profile with valuable contacts in the creative world.

The competition is run by the Association of Photographers Ltd (AOP) which is a not-for-profit trade association for commercial photographers, founded in 1968. Its aim is to promote and protect the worth and standing of its members and to defend and lobby for the interests and rights of all professional photographers. The Association also provides information services, education programmes, exhibitions and publications to support these activities.
