MEDIA RELEASE COURTESY: WISEWORDS BOOKFEST
The Wisewords Bookfest presents two days of thrilling, thoughtful, radical and humorous writing by women authors introducing their latest publications. Come along and spend an enjoyable day with writers reading and discussing their work. Each session lasts one hour with a half hour break in between for refreshments and the opportunity to buy books.
On Friday 12 March the authors will be Tamsin Bradley & Emma Tomalin Dowry (Zed Books), Kavita Ramdya Bollywood Weddings (Lexington Books), Dreda Say Mitchell Gangster Girl (Hodder) & Claire Seeber Never Tell (Harper Collins) on Crime writing, Clare Mulley The Woman who Saved the Children (Oneworld Publications), and Kat Banyard launches her new book The Equality Illusion(Faber).
On Saturday 13 March the authors are Joy Howard and six poets with their new anthology Cracking On (Grey Hen Press), Kia Abdullah Child's Play (Revenge Ink) new writer with Laura Longrigg literary agent, Cathi Unsworth Bad Penny blues (Serpents Tail) & Elizabeth Wilson War Damage (Serpents Tail) on writing thrillers, Maggie Gee My Animal Life (Telegraph Books) & Yasmin Alibhai Brown the Settlers Cookbook (Portobello Books) discussing their memoirs, and to round it all off a wonderfully funny session with well known comic and writer Shazia Mirza Columnist of the Year.
