Who is your Foster’s Comedy God? You decide.
To celebrate the breadth of phenomenal talent the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards has discovered over 30 years, the public are being given a chance to have their say.
The Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards has an illustrious and extensive heritage of discovering the funniest, most outstanding, up and coming new talent at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The nominees of today are the stars of tomorrow. The nominees list reads like a Who’s Who of British Comedy many of whom are now household names and international superstars.
All the Best Comedy and Best Newcomer nominees from 1981 to 2009 are eligible for the Comedy God award.
Nica Burns, Director of the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy awards says:
“Some 30th anniversary interactive fun - comedy punters can crown their favourite act. With such a breathtakingly talented list of comedians, the choice is phenomenal. This is our way of celebrating all the comedians nominated through the years who have made an invaluable contribution to the huge success that is today’s comedy world. Upset the professional judges! To vote for the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy God go to www.comedygod.co.uk to view the full nominee list." Voters simply choose their Comedy God and click submit.
The winner of the public vote will be announced at the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards lunchtime ceremony on Saturday 28th August at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Everyone voting can choose to enter into a prize draw to win an all-expenses paid weekend for two to the Edinburgh Festival. The voting closes at 12 midnight on Wednesday 24 August 2010.
