Kitten de Ville and Dirty Martini

ArtsHub | Wednesday, August 18, 2010

MEDIA RELEASE COURTESY OF: Martini Lounge

The Martini Lounge is delighted to announce that tickets for its upcoming grand showcase, to be held at St Georges Hall on Sunday 31 October are now on sale!

World renowned Burlesque performers Kitten de Ville & Dirty Martini will fly in from America to join Millie Dollar and a raft of the UK’s finest burlesque stars in a fabulous night of glamour in one of the UK’s most beautiful buildings.

Local Vixen Millie Dollar will be seductively stepping out onto the stage with international guests exhibiting their talents in unforgettable performances that will transport the audience to a different time. The Martini Lounge treasures the satire and performance art that evolved since its 19th Century origins and has created a classy and delightfully ludicrous night of entertainment in the most pertinent venue to reflect this tradition.

The special line-up will see living legend Dirty Martini from New York perform alongside bump and grind artist Kitten de Ville from Los Angeles, both of whom are former Miss Exotic World in a rare and exciting visit to the UK. Joining them on stage will be acclaimed performers Missy Malone, Velma Von Bon Bon and founder of the Martini Lounge Millie Dollar. Combining this exceptional cast with the elaborate costumes and music will have the audience transfixed.

Millie Dollar is delighted that the night has grown to such an extent that her ambition can now be realised, “Years ago, when I first walked into the Concert Room in St George’s Hall it became my dream to have a show there. It's the perfect setting for these events and after years of running the Martini Lounge and dreaming about one day taking it to the Hall I’m very excited to bring something so unique and lavish to my hometown.”

The night will be packed with variety and hosted by the magnificent Fred Bear, creator of Bearlesque. Bear has graced the stage with his show ‘We ate all the pies’; his London based troupe has claimed notoriety and received rave reviews in the pages of Bizarre and Time Out. We are thrilled that renowned cabaret performer Des O’Connor will be joining in. O’Connor is known as the Cabaret King and has caused a sensational stir within the Burlesque community for his hilariously dark act and his talented Ukulele playing. Both performers are powerhouses within the industry and are guaranteed to get the guests involved in the extravaganza.

This is the first in a series of three showcases, the second taking place in December 2010 and the third in February 2011. Each night will comprise of a dinner show and an evening event. The forth coming nights will be on sale shortly. Each night will allow guests to revel in an exclusive show program whilst enjoying a sumptuous two-course dinner that will tantalise the taste buds prior to the evening event for which the circle and balcony seats will be opened.

Widely regarded as the must-see Burlesque showcase in the UK due to its sell-out status and devoted audience The Martini Lounge invites you to a night of glitz and glamour. Join us as we bring an outstanding line-up of Burlesque to the cultural city of Liverpool in the elite and striking venue of St.George’s Hall.
