Billy Bragg is to appear at a special event at QUAD in Derby.
Billy Bragg will be at QUAD in Derby to introduce a new film Breaking Rocks (Certificate Exempt) and playing as part of a live acoustic set on Saturday 20th February at 8:00pm.
Breaking Rocks is an inspiring documentary which charts the history of ‘Jail Guitar Doors’, Bragg's independent initiative which aims to provide instruments to those who are using music as a means of achieving the rehabilitation of prison inmates. The film features performances by 'graduates' from Jail Guitar Doors as well as from many of the artists that have supported the programme including Mick Jones (The Clash) Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters) Sam Duckworth (Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly) and Billy Bragg himself.
This screening will be introduced by both Billy Bragg and the film’s director Alan Miles. A live acoustic set in QUAD will follow the screening, performed by Billy Bragg and two graduates of the Jail Guitar Doors initiative. Tickets for the event are £11.00 (£9.00 for concessions and QUAD Members) and are selling fast.
To book seats or for more information and please call the QUAD Box office on (01332) 290606 or go to www.derbyquad.co.uk/whats-on/cinema-listings/breaking-rocks-e
