Apples & Snakes, the UK¹s leading organisation for performance poetry, has appointed Gina Sherman as its new South West Coordinator.
Gina will be based at Barbican Theatre, Plymouth with the remit to develop performance poetry in the South West. She joins Apples & Snakes from the Barbican, where she is Programme Coordinator, responsible for the volunteer programme.
Apples & Snakes has built an international reputation for its work with performance poetry, which focuses on working with emerging artists, producing new work and putting poets in education. Apples & Snakes runs regular events across England alongside pioneering artist development programmes.
It also works extensively with schools, prisons and libraries to develop literacy, communication skills, motivation and self-esteem through high quality performance poetry workshops and events.
