Transgender Awareness Screening of Transamerica

There will be a special screening at QUAD in Derby to mark Transgender Awareness Day on Saturday 20th November. In Transamerica, Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives) plays a male to female preoperative transsexual Bree who, on the cusp of the final operation, discovers she has a son. Her therapist refuses to give her written permission for the operation until she resolves the issues with him. The film and gained both an Oscar nomination and won the Golden Globe for Best Actress for Huffman’s leading performance.
Transamerica (Certificate 15) will screen on Saturday 20th November at 8:00pm and will be introduced by Beth Seymour from Rainbow Vision.
