With NSW Senior’s Week approaching (14-22 March), it is a timely moment to consider our ageing population. Currently the third leading cause of death in Australia, Dementia and Alzheimer disease is forecast to be our largest cause of death within the next twenty years. With 120,000 people in NSW living with dementia today, together with their carers, these numbers represent a large part of the community.
