Shakespeare Birthplace Trust

First Person Interpreter (Male)

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is seeking a lively character to bring to life the site of New Place in 1759 as we place Francis Gastrell on trial as part of our summer campaign.

You will be working in costume but without a script, so must love history, be an effective communicator and historical improviser.

We are seeking men to play Francis Gastrell, the man behind the demolition of New Place.  They must have an acting range of 45-65 because of the age Francis Gastrell was when he owned the house.

Rate of pay: £9.50 per hour

You must be available to work weekends from 21st July to 3rd September 2018. You will need to be available for training on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July 2018.

The closing date for applications is Friday 22nd June 2018, and auditions will take place on Monday 2nd July 2018.
