Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance is calling for entries to our Chinese Translation and Play Scripts Writing Competition. The best script writer will receive an award and a budget of £500-£1000 to create a live production of their script. Experts from Goldsmiths will work collaboratively with you and there is even a chance of taking their production on tour. Three additional winners will have their work posted online and given 5 free sessions from one of our short courses (you can find more information about them here: https://www.gold.ac.uk/confucius-institute/).
To take part you need to translate either the synopsis of “The Injustice to Dou E” and the extract of “The Ballad of Mulan” into English. Then write one scene of a play script based upon your translated synopsis.
Calls for entries began on 25th April and will close on 20th May. The winners will be announced on 1st June.
Please submit the registration form, translation and script writing entry, along with a statement for originality of the work and copyright to L.Shan@gold.ac.uk and Confucius@gold.ac.uk. The registration form, as well as copies the two synopses, as well as all other information related to the competition can be found here: https://www.gold.ac.uk/confucius-institute/news-and-events/.
